chatGPT and "generative AI" integration has made helpful tools /worse/. google spellcheck no longer does anything. similarly, grammar edits provided in gdocs are not reliable or useful.

i got into modding back when there were like No Guides and it sucks ass to try and pull up the scant resources we had and find it all gone bc we decided to put it on gdocs/youtube/"its on xivmods.guide but links to gdocs/yt" like no i am putting that shit somewhere it can be archived/waybacked

i've always been primarily a fandom rper but it was on dreamwidth and later gdocs so while i'm sweating profusely with desire to get back into it, i no longer speak the same social language lmao. shyly building a bunch of necron accounts and then sprinting into the woods if anyone looks at me.

after ai slop stuff started rolling out the gdocs experience has been enshittified. i have no idea why sometimes im writing and the autocorrector for that site decides i want to have the previous / next lines mashed into an incomprehensible wordsoup (prob bc they recorded ppl typing mistakes)

Every so often I think things like: what would it be like if Gdocs or any other word processor could sort bulleted lists alphabetically. Because that's something a computer can do.
Or what if a table could be sorted.

got ellipsus yesterday and it is........ very fancy.......... i think what i like the most about gdocs is how bare-bones it is. this will take a considerable amount of getting used to. will probably keep using gdocs until i no longer can lmao
