Instead of our usual Thursday lab meeting, today our team is joining the @wildlifeacoustics.com #NocmigWebinar "Dispatches in the Dark." We're learning all about nocturnal flight calls, migration over China and Europe, and the Chirpity #nocmig package. Thanks for hosting, Wildlife Acoustics!

The fact that nocturnal migration acoustic monitoring can be used to judge migration intensity and in turn, people can control light pollution and help birds migrate is very exciting prospect that should be worked upon.

Just now in #NocmigWebinar from @wildlifeacoustics.com to expanding datascience together with bat surveys and citizen science too. Big migrations closer to us throught NFC’s. You won’t go to sleep without knowing one more thing. Looking forward to the new #SongMeter5 units!

I had never thought about recording units picking up wing beats of Birds...I wonder how that works out when you're trying to record migratory birds but huge flock of blackbirds just fly through confounding the bird calls!

Crazy!

Again I learned a lot in a #NocmigWebinar from @wildlifeacoustics.com . Beside using Chirpity for bird sound detection for more than 2years, I learned new Tweeks. Shift Delete! Thank you for sharing.

Landforms, such as peninsulas can form natural funnels that concentrate migratory birds into a small area. The western tip of Brittany in France is a good example. #nocmigwebinar @wildlifeacoustics.com

#nocmigwebinar #wildlifeacoustics fun facts - my fun fact is reading Bobs chat comment stating he loves a good spectrogram...... this is clearly a joke as trailing through hours and hours of grey matter on audacity definately makes your eyes bleed....🤣🤣🤣
