Cuomo helped form the IDC, a group of rogue Democratic state senators who sided with Republicans year after year to keep loopholes in NY’s rent stabilization laws.

The result: tens of thousands of rent stabilized units were eliminated.

Another Cuomo noninterference story falls apart
Andrew Cuomo has always been careful to maintain a plausible-looking deniability when it comes to his role in keeping his own party out of power in the State Senate.

"In neo-royalist orders, hierarchy is the point. The purpose of neo-royalist orders is to develop rules that allow a small clique to maintain dominance in both material and symbolic goods. It thus rejects notions of sovereign equality and noninterference"

Trump demanded that Israeli prosecutors drop their corruption case against Netanyahu. “It is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu,” he complained. So much for not lecturing other nations “on how to live and how to govern your own affairs”! wapo.st/4nahJCH

Every quote from Frey and O'Hara is so weaselly. Refusing to commit to noninterference, all couched in allusions to unlawful activity by protesters. "Look, we're not going to interfere with protests... but if there are reports of property damage? IT'S ON."

Truman's role, as General Groves put it later, was "one of noninterference—basically, a decision not to upset the existing plans." He was informed to a degree about some of the decisions, but how well he was informed is questionable. He was, to be fair, very busy with many other things.

Rather than reproaching Israel for human rights violations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the Trump administration is taking aim at its critics. Rubio just expanded sanctions on the judges & prosecutors of the International Criminal Court for probing alleged Israeli and US crimes. wapo.st/4nahJCH

Tulsi Gabbard, appointed to be DNI under Trump, has stated that the key to ending the war in Ukraine is for Ukraine to "accept neutrality", which is actually a great idea. Have Russia and Ukraine sign a treaty pledging peace and noninterference. Maybe have US/UK sign on too. Perhaps in Budapest?

It will be news to European leaders that Trump has a policy of not interfering in other countries’ internal affairs. His administration has interfered not only to promote the far right but also to water down Internet regulation and, allegedly, to foment an uprising in Greenland. wapo.st/4nahJCH

NYC voters must also not forget how Cuomo worked tirelessly as governor to betray the legislative agenda of his fellow Democrats by helping Republicans maintain a NY State Senate majority from 2011 to 2018 through the IDC.

Trump’s hands-off approach to other nations’ affairs seems to apply only when it comes to promoting democracy or human rights; encouraging right-wing populism or even authoritarianism is another matter. His administration is turning longstanding US foreign policy on its head. wapo.st/4nahJCH

If you think Cuomo is a “tough guy” who will stand up to Trump, think again. He’ll sell out NYC faster than you can say “IDC” if it means he can grab more power for himself. www.politico.com/states/new-y...

Hakeem Jeffries knows that Cuomo was behind the NY Senate IDC, a group of breakaway Dems who caucused with Republicans and blocked progressive legislation.

Cuomo was “deeply involved" and “absolutely” encouraged the arrangement keeping GOP in power, per Politico:

One can detect Trump’s “see no evil” policy in the State Department’s human rights reports on his authoritarian allies, eg El Salvador and Hungary. But the nonjudgmental approach shifts dramatically when it is describing democratic countries whose leaders are at odds with Trump. wapo.st/4nahJCH

Trump’s devotion to nonintervention is entirely situational and dependent on what he thinks of a particular government. This has created a perverse situation: The US, long the world’s foremost champion of freedom, is moving from promoting democracy abroad to undermining it. wapo.st/4nahJCH
