NEW: Trump’s DOJ opened a case in Arizona investigating whether three nonprofits registered noncitizens to vote in this year’s midterms.

The case comes as the Trump administration attempts to undermine trust in elections by claiming that rare instances of illegal voting are actually widespread.

People who could leverage their advantages to be heard over others did so, and did so everywhere from academic conferences to fandom forums to workplaces to nonprofits.

A lot of awareness and knowledge was spread and made accessible, but it was largely used to bolster petty interpersonal strife.

This NYT article is about law firms, but I extend this sentiment to the businesses, nonprofits, politicians, and others that saw authoritarianism's fangs and folded. If and when the tides start to turn, it's important we remember who took the risk to keep fighting. Those are the real ones.

Another entry into the "nonprofits are bad actually and you shouldn't rely on them to deliver services" ledger.

Ahhh that family seems lovely! “Already, Zoe is researching nonprofits that she could donate to. Dave said he will probably fix the air conditioning in his Honda Civic.”

I'm buying every car magazine and website and setting them up to run as well funded nonprofits in perpetuity.

Let's correct that headline: Plagued by pedophilia and sexual abuse charges, white Evangelical megachurch formally acknowledges that it is a component of the Republican party. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

The number of journalists is much higher than the amount of work. It’s pretty easy to pass over ppl. Plus look at how nonprofits cave. See eg Arnold. Who funded cj journalism? Arnold.

They never saw the missed vaccinations, or the conversion therapy, or the waterboarding with vinegar.

Every year, my parents were lauded by the staff at the Hospital. And the beauty of the annual candy runs - and the readathon fundraisers they had us do for various nonprofits,

And while using Jewish safety as a political prop, Trump's FEMA froze and underfunded the Nonprofit Security Grant Program in 2026 so badly that *over 77%* of NSGP applications protecting synagogues and nonprofits were rejected. Dems pledged to fully fund NSGP and probe white nationalist terror.

Next Tuesday the National Council of Nonprofits is sponsoring a national day of action "to oppose a sweeping proposal from the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to

A lot of what NGOs and nonprofits do makes more sense when you understand yourself as not being trans enough, per the definitions used in practice instead of the ones used in public relations.

Stopped by The Bier Stein in Eugene to get a pint, chat with folks, and catch up with local leaders.

The Bier Stein gives back to Lane County nonprofits, schools, and local organizations. Oregon small businesses show up for their neighbors, and as governor, I'll always show up for them.
