Me screaming into the hole again. I also got told idiot information; I'm on concerta atm, not adderall. So I'm on the one that doesn't actually elevate dopamine / norepinephrine. It just keeps that shit in my brain

I have Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) lined up for Jan 2027.

AND! - I have finally been offered SNRI meds (rather than SSRI) crucially due to how abnormal levels of serotonin and norepinephrine are thought to be linked with ME/CFS, and can👏help👏ease👏 nerve👏and👏muscle👏pains👏!

Fina-fucking-ly 🫠

Also medication update if anyone wants one:
we doing p good chat. More chill. Lil more focused. I'm on bupropion which unlike a normal SSRI this is an NDRI (norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor). I've been on it off and on for years and I personally love it. Just need a higher dose atm lol

Neuroplasticity is not an open door that swings freely throughout adult life. It requires precise biochemical gating: acetylcholine for focused spatial attention, and norepinephrine to flag environmental novelty.

Neurotransmitters are at the heart of emotional balance — yet too often, support focuses on just one.

BrainSteady™ was designed differently: to help balance dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine together.

TAAR stands for trace amine receptor #1 and it looks for what thyroid hormone breaks down from T3 and T4 into T0 and T1, but also neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine etc

this is because all neurotransmitters are toxic in the wrong ratios but also this same I want to touch

I don't really know why he recommended an SNRI instead of an SSRI but he said something about norepinephrine being activating

ADHD symptoms are largely tied to lower baseline levels and rapid reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine in the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain responsible for impulse control, planning, and working memory.

When large muscle groups contract during moderate-to-vigorous movement, the brain immediately increases dopamine and norepinephrine synthesis and release. In parallel, exercise boosts brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that supports synaptic plasticity and cognitive flexibility.

The Reality: While real-world pharmacotherapy for ADHD (such as stimulants) aims to optimize baseline dopamine and norepinephrine tone in the prefrontal cortex to improve sustained attention and executive control, no pill grants instantaneous encyclopedic recall or superhuman synthesis.

I'm just terrified tbh.

Bc what I learned is that Strattera works by raising norepinephrine/noradrenaline - the exact neurotransmitter I believe is part of why my twitching is severe in the first place (bc it's already too high, hence why I can't drink coffee).

Being low on Norepinephrine causes anxiety.

A quick hack is an icepack on the face (or cool water).

Then make sure you're getting enough nutrients for dopamine. Folate, Vitamin D, Vitamin C.
