i decided to draw a a Notropis aulidion (Durango Shiner) after seeing AVNJ draw it on stream, i couldnt find anything about colour so i kinda just looked at other species of Notropis to get a general feel

E finalmente nel pond, la livrea dei Notropis maschi passa dal blando grigino a un viola con pinne azzurre (peccato per la carenza del sole).

My #SundayFishSketch this week is a WIP inspired by @Nature_MN’s recent instagram post with Topeka shiners (Notropis topeka)
Pictured are 3 Silver Shiners, Notropis photogenis, from the Flint River in north 'bama. I thought of them because we're having heavy rains. We found 10 years ago that they seem to spawn on pulses of high water this time of year, buoyant eggs carried downstream. Rheophilic fishes are cool. 🧪🦑🌍🌿

For this no-theme #SundayFishSketch, here's a carmine shiner (Notropis percobromus). Its Canadian range is only found in a small corner of Manitoba and it is currently listed as endangered.

Ieri ho introdotto nel mio pond una coppia di Medaka Aurora (prima foto) ma un maschio di Notropis (seconda foto), già presente nel pond li attacca (comportamento molto insolito per loro, super attivi ma non aggressivi).
Il maschio in questione ora è da solo in esilio in bagno.

Ieri ho introdotto nel mio pond una coppia di Medaka Aurora (prima foto) ma un maschio di Notropis (seconda foto), già presente nel pond li attacca (comportamento molto insolito per loro, super attivi ma non aggressivi).
Il maschio in questione ora è da solo in esilio in bagno.
