Th-229 nuclear clock data constrains nonlocal quantum field theory for the first time, establishing laboratory-scale bounds on the nonlocality energy scale at 22.3 MeV (direct) to 1.72 GeV with nuclear enhancement.

In a new "Nature" paper, JILA and NIST Fellow and CU Boulder Physics prof Jun Ye and his team collaborated with UCLA prof Eric Hudson to make a method for creating thin layers of thorium, a promising new platform for future #nuclearclocks.
