Nutmeg was our first cat and came to the back door of our apartment when she smelled bacon and eggs. We fed her and let her out, but she came back, never left, and had kittens! Watching her give birth was a special time for Steve and I to share, and it was just over a year later that I gave birth to Steven. Nutmeg endured all of our boys getting their monthly pictures taken with her, and although she never enjoyed the other pets that joined our family, she knew she was the queen over all. At least in our household, that is... Nutmeg’s mortal enemy was the late Zulu next door, who trounced her several times in some epic cat fights, and Nutmeg also eventually lost half her tail (no dogs shall be named but our neighbor did find her dogs playing with the tail and brought it over in a ziploc bag!). Nutmeg had the softest fur that I’ve ever felt on a cat and her warm cuddles will be missed. RIP Nutmeg 2006? 2007? - October 24, 2019".
