Alan Partridge from the Oasthouse is the most insistent earworm I've experienced.

I don't think I've heard a better takedown of vox pops than in an episode of From The Oasthouse when Alan describes his girlfriend as "fiercely apolitical (she did campaign for Brexit)".
what is a same sex bathroom dawg

What the Gibbons brothers (and Coogan) have done with Partridge between film, (audio)books, TV and Oasthouse might be the greatest British cultural achievement of the century.
Alan Partridge is the greatest comedy character of all time. Face facts, Falstaff. A fully three-dimensional creation, so rich in detail, an apparently endless source of hilarity and pathos.

So, y'know, well done to everyone involved over the last 30-odd years. Your service is appreciated.

An old oast house, now lived in, near the Kent marshes.
The hops are grown, literally in the field nextdoor.

Have been saving From the Oasthouse S4 for a weekend of travel, but had to dip in last night and listen to the first one. Good lord, Alan stuck in the porch was top-tier Partridge.

Got the most recent series of FROM THE OASTHOUSE for Xmas and it’s making me laugh so many times per minute, just wonderful, brilliant writing. Then I saw some bad reviews on Amazon from people who don’t think it’s funny and it made me sad

Listened to so much Partridge (oasthouse, audio books etc) I've started turning into him. Worrying.

I think they should do the idea Alan Partridge moots in Oasthouse and reboot the whole franchise as a double act.

Idris Elba is Jack James and Tom Hiddleston is Brian Bond, together they are "James and Bond", two retired spies who set up their own detective agency at 007 Lower Regent Street.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

One of the best jokes on Oasthouse is Partridge being really good mates with Grant Shapps.

A lesser writer would have made it Matt Hancock but Shapps is just much, much funnier.

“For fuck’s sake Grant, pull over at the services and get yourself a coffee. You’re fucking Transport Minister.”

A rare selfie. I’m either listening to the new series of From the Oasthouse or I’m remembering a girlfriend leaving me for a Paul McCartney impersonator* I forget.

If you want some respite from *gestures around at stuff* I'll tell you want I really enjoyed today: listening to a few episodes of season 4 of Alan Partridge's From The Oasthouse. It's an utter joy and a reminder of what comedy can do: make you laugh and temporarily forget a darker world.

Wrong, sir, Alan evolves, he doesn't re...volve.

This Time, How Are You, MMM and Oasthouse are all excellent – obviously not exactly the same character or style of comedy as 30 years ago, but what other character has been around for 30 years?

Garth Marenghi's two books, and one of the Alan Partridge Oasthouse series.
