FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Philippe Drouin Obvurt Unleashes New Single “Résilience” – A Monument of Precision, Power, and Perseverance Following the November 9th release of his full-length album Le Chemin Du Gaucher , visionary guitarist Philippe Drouin Obvurt delivers a blistering new single and playthrough video, “Résilience” , now available on https://philippedrouinobvurt.bandcamp.com/track/r-silience and YouTube “Résilience” captures the heart of Philippe’s story—a jaw-dropping showcase of technical mastery forged from struggle and rebirth. After a devastating car accident left him unable to play right-handed, Drouin defied the odds, relearning his entire technique left-handed under the guidance of shred legend Michael Angelo Batio . The result is a guitarist reborn—unyielding, inventive, and utterly fearless. The track is a searing demonstration of double-guitar death metal , co-written and performed alongside John Longstreth (Origin, Hate Eternal) on drums. Together, they create a sonic landscape that’s as intricate as it is brutal—layered riffs, precision drumming, and the kind of raw emotion that can only come from surviving the impossible. Lifted from Le Chemin Du Gaucher , “Résilience” embodies the album’s concept: five essential aspects of learning an instrument, expressed through riffs and rhythm rather than words. Add to that a mind-blowing Gojira medley and a reimagined J.S. Bach cover , and you get an album that redefines what death metal musicianship can be.
