I used to work at an oceanfront attraction years ago, too! Marineland of Florida, was the world's first "oceanarium" and it was a tropical paradise, that is no longer in existence. And I agree, just being near the ocean is so relaxing. 🫶✨🕊️🌊

The centres will host pro-government lectures, meetings with war participants and events promoting “traditional values”. In Vladivostok, a 35-year-old oceanarium was closed for the project. In Ryazan, part of a forest park was cleared. That money could have built several large schools or clinics.

No dive licence? No problem. Snorkel above manta rays and sharks at Singapore Oceanarium for S$109, no swimming experience needed.
Snorkel with Manta Rays and Sharks at Singapore Oceanarium for S$109, No Swimming Needed
Singapore Oceanarium on Sentosa has launched an experience for complete beginners to snorkel above manta rays, sharks and schools of fish for **S$109**. The new **PADI Discover Snorkelling** programme is open to anyone aged **10 and above** , and you don’t need to have swum, snorkelled or dived before. RWS says the programme is designed for beginners, families and ocean lovers. ## What the 90 Minutes Look Like Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) announced **PADI Discover Snorkelling** on 21 October 2026. Its official programme listing shows sessions starting on **1 November 2026**. PADI stands for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the international body that trains and certifies recreational divers. Here, that means a PADI instructor guides each session. The **90-minute** session takes place at the surface of the oceanarium’s **Open Ocean Habitat** , home to manta rays, sharks and schools of fish. You stay at the surface the whole time, so there are no tanks and no scuba. Participants pick up basic snorkelling skills and learn about marine ecosystems and ocean conservation while the animals move about below them. The RWS listing puts sessions on **Tuesday to Sunday** , with **up to eight participants** each time. RWS bills this as Singapore’s only snorkelling experience in an oceanarium setting. Adventure Cove Waterpark, also part of RWS, has Rainbow Reef, a snorkelling attraction with more than 20,000 tropical fish. ## What S$109 Covers The **S$109** price is per person and includes a **one-day admission ticket to Singapore Oceanarium**. Once you’ve dried off, you can explore the rest of the place. It reopened in July 2025 as the successor to S.E.A. Aquarium, roughly three times its old size and spread across 22 themed zones. A PADI Discover Snorkelling group floats above manta rays and stingrays in the Open Ocean Habitat. Photo: Resorts World Sentosa. Compare that with the oceanarium’s other programmes. **PADI Discover Scuba Diving** runs for two hours and takes beginners to depths of up to 12m. **Open Ocean Dive** and **Shark Dive** each run for 90 minutes, but both are only for certified divers. Shark Dive also requires a logged dive within the past six months. Per the release, Open Ocean Dive and Shark Dive are for certified divers, while PADI Discover Scuba Diving is the introduction to scuba. ## The Five-Star Badge Behind It The programme launch comes with an accreditation. Singapore Oceanarium’s PADI Dive Centre is now a **PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Dive Resort**. In everyday terms, it can train divers from their first snorkel all the way to becoming instructors themselves. At Singapore Oceanarium, that person is **Zulfli Bin Mazlan** , its Lead Dive Specialist and PADI Course Director. He said: “Through the PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Dive Resort at Singapore Oceanarium, participants can take their first steps with confidence and continue developing their skills under the guidance of experienced professionals in a safe, immersive experience, surrounded by real marine animals.” **Mark Hedger** , PADI’s Regional Manager of Singapore, framed the goal beyond the tank. “Through these experiences, we hope to inspire more people not only to explore the ocean, but to play a part in protecting it,” he said. ## Where You Go After the Surface If the first session hooks you, there’s a clear path without leaving Sentosa. The **PADI Open Water Diver Course** works towards an internationally recognised certification. Once you’re certified, the **PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty Course** combines diving with shark conservation lessons. **PADI ReActivate** is for lapsed divers who want to brush up before their next trip. **Open Ocean Dive** and **Shark Dive** are guided habitat experiences for certified divers, in the Open Ocean and Shark Seas habitats. Separately, Resorts World Sentosa is planning a Christmas programme for its RWS Season of Joy, with an underwater Santa dive among the Glowcean Wonderland activities from **27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027**. 🗓️ **Date:** From 1 November 2026, Tuesday to Sunday (per RWS’s programme listing) ⏰ **Time:** 90 minutes 📍 **Location:** Open Ocean Habitat, Singapore Oceanarium, Resorts World Sentosa 💰 **Price:** S$109 per person, including one-day admission to Singapore Oceanarium 🧒 **Age:** 10 and above, no swimming, snorkelling or diving experience needed 👥 **Group size:** Up to eight participants per session You can book PADI Discover Snorkelling and browse the oceanarium’s other dive programmes on the Singapore Oceanarium website. **_Photos and Visuals courtesy of Singapore Oceanarium, Resorts World Sentosa._**

Ever wondered what the Oceanarium's blue roof feels like? Red Bull freerunners ran it 90 feet up, then cleared 10-foot gaps nine storeys high!
Red Bull Parkour at Resorts World Sentosa: 90 Feet up, 1 Final Flag
Anyone who has queued at Universal Studios Singapore and looked up at the curving blue roof of **Singapore Oceanarium** has probably wondered what it would feel like to stand on it. Freerunners now know, and their answer is on video. **Red Bull** turned **Resorts World Sentosa (RWS)** into a high-altitude game of capture-the-flag, and the full clip is up now on the resort’s official YouTube channel. The spots in the film are places a Singapore reader can visit this month, from Hollywood Boulevard to the Grand Steps. According to Red Bull and RWS, it’s the first freerunning race of this scale ever held in Singapore. ## Meet the Flag Hunters The rules, as the video’s narrator lays them out, are simple. Flags are hidden around the resort, and the team that collects the most of them wins. The hard part is getting to each flag. Leading one team is **Dominic Di Tommaso** , an Australian Red Bull freerunner who competes regularly at _Red Bull Art of Motion_ and belongs to Team Farang, one of the crews driving parkour forward across Southeast Asia. The other team paired Dutch Red Bull freerunner **Noa Diorgina** with **Koh Chen Pin** , known as CP, from the Singapore community group **Lion City Parkour**. For Diorgina, it was her first trip to Singapore, and she wasted no time finding the rooftops. _Some people start with chicken rice._ ## From Oceanarium Roof to Castle Top The race kicked off on the roof of Singapore Oceanarium, where both teams ran and flipped across the building’s sweeping blue spine, 90 feet above ground. Red Bull and RWS say these athletes were the first ever to do so, and Diorgina sounded as surprised as anyone. “I was surprised that we could be the first people to go on the roof of Singapore Oceanarium!” she said. The run of 10-foot roof gaps at The Laurus, cleared nine storeys above the resort Imagine the view from 90 feet up, with the rest of the resort laid out beneath you like a map you’re about to sprint across. This is the opening sequence of the film, and it earns that spot, because the roof’s curves give the runners something to flow along rather than simply cross. Things got most intense at **The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort**. There, the athletes cleared a series of 10-foot roof gaps, nine storeys up, one after another in quick succession. That stretch is the part worth watching twice. A 10-foot gap on flat ground is a long jump most people would think hard about, so seeing it done again and again at nine storeys, with a flag on the line, is what separates a professional from a hobbyist! From there, the course passed through **WEAVE** , RWS’s newest retail and lifestyle destination. Next, it converged on **Universal Studios Singapore** , where the teams launched in front of the famous globe and wove down Hollywood Boulevard past Mel’s Drive-In, before finishing atop Far Far Away Castle. The teams split up for the next leg. Outside Hotel Ora, Di Tommaso and Spinboy scaled the exterior walls and leapt a run of handrails set 8 feet apart. Meanwhile, Diorgina and CP dropped inside to flip through the **Open Ocean** gallery, home to an 18-million-litre viewing tank that RWS calls the largest in Southeast Asia. Everything ended at the Grand Steps, where Di Tommaso and Diorgina sprinted down a three-flight staircase for the final flag. ## Who Keeps This Safe? It’s a fair thing to wonder when people are flipping across rooftops. Because the race ran through public spaces with spectators around, Red Bull and RWS say every section took place under professional supervision, with safety measures and risk assessments done for each part of the course. Please don’t try the Laurus gaps after dinner at WEAVE. These are athletes who worked under professional supervision. The athletes were looked after off the rooftops too. RWS says it delivered its “eat, play, sleep” hospitality model to the athletes. ## Can Parkour Be a Career? For CP, this was the big one. “It has always been a dream of mine to be on a Red Bull project, especially on such a scale!” he said. He believes Singaporeans will be shocked by the footage, and he hopes it gives parkour “a voice in such a positive light” that can make the sport feel more legitimate here. Di Tommaso shows what the path can look like. His Red Bull projects have taken him to the Pyramids and Sphinx in Cairo and to the Sydney Opera House, where he became the first athlete to freerun across the venue. Brands pay for this kind of footage because it travels, and each project becomes part of an athlete’s portfolio for the next job. The format has changed over the years as well. _Red Bull Art of Motion_ , which began in Vienna in 2007, has athletes judged on style, flow and skill across spots like the cliffside homes of Santorini. A race for flags, with teams splitting up and chasing points against a rival, is a different test, and a more watchable one for anyone who doesn’t know a double fly-away from a front flip. ## Singapore’s Scene Is Growing Up Di Tommaso says he has been visiting Singapore for years and has watched the local parkour community grow “in an exponential way”, with more structure and more public attention than before. His favourite detail is one most people wouldn’t expect. One of Red Bull’s freerunners takes a breather on a rooftop, with the Sentosa resort spread out below “I’ve seen elderly here in Singapore learning parkour for fall prevention, which is incredible to see and shows exactly what the sport can do beyond the tricks,” he said. That’s the best argument in the whole project. The 90-foot flips get the clicks, while the same skills of landing, balancing and moving well are helping someone’s grandparents stay on their feet. 🗓️ **Date:** Press release dated 30 September 2026 📍 **Location:** Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa, Singapore 🎃 **Festival of Thrills:** At RWS until 1 November 2026 🔗 **Details:** Full clip on Resorts World Sentosa’s official YouTube channel, with more videos on Red Bull Singapore’s TikTok, Instagram and Facebook A freerunner launches across a rooftop gap, with RWS attractions and the city skyline far below Watch the full race on Resorts World Sentosa’s official YouTube channel, then follow Red Bull Singapore on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook for the behind-the-scenes clips and whatever rooftop they climb next. If the footage makes you want to see these spots in person, RWS’s **Festival of Thrills** runs until **1 November 2026**. That’s time enough to walk Hollywood Boulevard at ground level and check out Halloween Horror Nights 14, and you’ll never look at the Oceanarium roof the same way again! **_Photos and Visuals courtesy of Red Bull and Resorts World Sentosa._**

Good, innit? And they have them in lots of aquariums (god, I *really* wanted to write 'aquaria'). This was actually the Oceanarium in Bournemouth.

Skipped the sharks. Stayed for the polka dots

I've been to this place since it was still S.E.A. Aquarium, back when it was a school excursion and I mostly cared about the gift shop. Came back now that it's Singapore Oceanarium.
