I honestly never really think I see players act like this (ex: yelling at each other about what weapons are good and bad). To me it feels like the forces that oppress "offmeta" weapons are silent. Also this could have something to do with results driven motivation or something idk

Even then. Many of the greatest runs in FGC are on offmeta picks. This is true in Moba's especially. See League, where a meta pick can be completely dislodged by an off meta pick played by skilled hands.

For gacha brainrotted players just being able to clear endgame content isnt enough, anything that does it slowly is deemed bad/clunky/offmeta.

But I decided to learn some VGC, and got to Master Ball Tier with a home brewed team in Reg G. (No crazy off meta mons, but some fun offmeta builds)
This completes my “triple crown”:
