Apparently off peak is kind of valid at 1850 but only to certain places, super offpeak apparently happens at 1900. What a joke our train system is.

jesus christ, this is so much worse than I would have thought. Especially given that "96% of flights" means that it probably also includes the random offpeak commuter flights with 15 people on them. Out of a tiny number, at least one of them still has covid.

Greece in general has a LOT of ground mounted solar and quite high curtailment rates. Since Corfu is connected to the mainland grid, it probably doesn't make much sense, especially as afaict Greece has a midday offpeak power price regime.

Planning your station serving hundreds of trains per day around the needs of a twice-a-week land cruise is the definition of the tail wagging the dog. I expect it can squeeze in offpeak somewhere but if it has to be truncated to Sheppard & Leslie or something so be it.

Geography forces half of the region to funnel into 4 road lanes every single day. It would be a generational failure if a major project creates something so abjectly uncompetitive offpeak that sitting in gridlock, or riding a bicycle, continues to be more sensible mode choices.
