At least we're not dying alone this time." while having a look of sad acceptance. Meanwhile Shen Qingqiu is trying to appear neutral, but on closer look he is frowning a bit. Top right: A doodle of Shang Qinghua as he has his right hand under his chin with a smug expression as he says "Ohh you want me so bad" with a heart emoticon at the end. Shen Qingqiu looks at him with an angry expression as he replies, "What is your fucking problem." Bottom left: Shang Qinghua is standing over Shen Qingqiu, Shang Qinghua is gripping Shen Qingqiu's chin with both of his hands as he forces Shen Qingqiu to look up at him. SVSSS analysis about self-projection
Part 1 of a text post that reads: Earlier, to me, Shen Yuan being hell bent on believing Binghe to be manipulative and deceptive when they met in Jinlan City, was a result of his preconceived notions thanks to his PIDW knowledge. But, I do wonder, if a part of it was because, he himself has been lying all this time. Ever since he transmigrated, he's been deceiving everyone. Partly because of the System and partly because he had decided even before dying that that'd be his plan of action if he ever transmigrated. To him, it had felt like the only sensible option. The only way to survive, to be accepted. But he can't fathom, that maybe, in some sense, that is also true for Luo Binghe. When Luo Binghe met his shizun after the abyss, Shen Yuan read every emotion on his face as a calculated move. He believed Binghe's acting skills were so good, that he appeared genuine. Like Shen Yuan chose to lie and trick to survive, Binghe does the same for power and revenge. Shen Yuan may have consciously chosen this path but it was under duress. Luo Binghe, however, must be a mastermind for the exact same choices. That's how he was written, after all. How could the OP Protagonist ever be forced to act in a way he never wanted??? Impossible! Continuation of part 1 of the text post: act in a way he never wanted??? Impossible! I wonder if, like Shen Jiu self-projected a beast onto Binghe, Shen Yuan self-projected a deceiver. EDIT: part 2 Tags that read: #lbh gets a bad rep #and I am not saying that he didn't lie or manipulate #he was clever about his goals (very sexy of him) #infact lbh being manipulative was what made bingqiu work bec sy didn't have the ability to be honest with his emotions #lbh always have to "trick" him in some way for him to comply #weird foreplay but I digress #point is sy was also a liar so much so that he lied to himself and the readers ALL THE TIME #only he could never see how lbh was also forced by the situation/plot onto the path of deceit Part 2 of the text post: a screenshot of tags from another user that says: # I once heard that cheaters often accuse their partners of cheating a lot #not that I'm saying sy is bad as a cheater! #but I wonder if this is similar It kinda is, I think. Also not saying that SY is a cheater. My mom always say that people can only give you what they have. This has two aspects: One, they can only treat you the way they are able to. For eg. If they have kindness, they treat others with kindness. And two, people often use other people as mirrors. So, in essence, they're talking and seeing themselves in other people. For eg. If they judge others, they believe everyone is judgemental. In other words, they will treat and perceive you the way they treat and perceive themself. [Also, simultaneously, believing others to be distinct from themself. So "my reasons are justified, but theirs are not" kind of mentality. Emotions and logic act separately.] Continuation of part 2 mentality. Emotions and logic act separately.] If Shen Yuan has always lied to himself and others and dismissed his own emotions, then that's what he's offering to LBH as well. Even when it's unintentional. If Shen Jiu has always felt vicious and cruel, then that's what he sees in others too. A fiendish child behind a façade of innocence. If OG Luo Binghe has always felt unloved, then to him every relationship is a means to an end, a transaction or a conquest. Many times what people have depends on what they get. So, for example, if SY's emotions are dismissed by his parents or friends, that's how he treats himself, then that's how he'll treat others. Vicious cycle of abuse and all that. But not always. Sometimes giving can allow you to have. Luo Binghe demanding love and attention, gives Shen Yuan a chance to feel these emotions honestly and offer it to him. And also himself. That's how good people can help you out. People can make others better. LBH makes SY more honest. Of course, everything is more nuanced and varies from situation to situation.
