Also challenges: can't use my normal oilbased ink at home; limited paper size (lots of text needs lots of space) & types (v stiff works best), different packing style... We'll see whether pass #3 on this print, full of tiny type text fit precisely in the current empty spaces, pans out! 🤞🎨

Ideas don't need to be complex to have intriguing results. These cards were made using string and an etching press. The blue separating out, the variations in colour, is why I enjoy Payne's grey ink (Caligo safewash, which is an oilbased ink that cleans up with water).

1/ Approximately 250 wood beads handpainted with oilbased paint pens. Need another 3 (maybe?) full trays of 250 beads each.

Now they dry for 2 days. Get sponge-painted with pale celadon blue green acrylic. Let dry again. Spray with Rustoleum Clear Matte varnish. Store for later.

What's later?

I've learnt a lot this morning as I tried oilbased ink and a better roller on linocuts. Good news - crisper image than with water-based ink. Bad news - much harder to clean up afterwards. I'm going to get an identical roller to use with water based inks to see if that helps. Comments welcome.
