Guys this is huge. The RRC runs the oil business in Texas. This guy winning is the absolute best thing that could happen for the environment in Texas. We have a serious problem with unregulated oilfield matters like wells and water disposal. This guy knows the business and can fix it.

The cause of the spill is still being investigated.

Our aging oilfield infrastructure is a major risk to our ecosystem. Companies and regulators should be doing a lot more to plug, monitor, or modernize older wells before they fail.

East SD has a fuckton of oilfields and not a whole lot of other economic activity, resulting in an electorate composted largely of oilfield guys

Burn um and co. are all members of Labour Friends of Israel. Jackdaw oilfield is 20% owned by an Israeli company. Burn um is deliberately conflating Zionism and Judaism

Oh look, oilfield services companies are paying as much as three times their usual logistics costs in the Middle East, with fuel expenses doubling and labor costs climbing by as much as 40%, as the Iran war continues to disrupt equipment deliveries and project operations.

Last year, Commissioner Jim Wright championed the first overhaul of the Texas’ oilfield waste rules in about 40 years. (@psskow.bsky.social: insideclimatenews.org/news/2001202...)

The new rule modernizes some aspects of commercial oilfield waste disposal and recycling. But rules for burying oilfield waste on private property remain limited.

Lubna Speitan, who proposed the motion, was not motivated by grandstanding. Take time to hear her speak in full on the motion and the Gaza context. Autocratic Labour Party, 100% grandstanding. Burn um deliberately conflates Zionism and Judaism. * Note: Jackdaw oilfield has 20% Israeli ownership

I got a letter from the EPA the other day about the Maari oilfield consent application.
I was shocked to be notified — it appears linked to a property in Port Underwood, the most easterly of the Marlborough sounds. I've been researching it, and keep finding more surprises. 🧵

Mapping underground oil reservoirs takes massive computing power, so bringing frontier AI to oilfield data is a natural fit. Gulf operators are doing it first because they have the capital and total state alignment to upgrade their tech without hitting red tape.

This is great 👏 Lots of Burnham to welcome:positive #RejoinEU signs, helping to pin the Reform populist balloon.Genuine Everton fan. But…older Gaza genocide protestors still arrested, approved a new N Sea oilfield.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 funding injustice continues.Owned by the same people that owned Starmer. Flat rigs, flat frack crews, everybody paying down debt. Shale discipline is the least exciting thing to hit the oilfield in years, and royalty owners can live with boring. Wells already drilled keep paying either way.

There are around 8,000,000,000 barrells of oil in the Claire oilfield still to be extracted, then there's the 640,000,000 barrells in the Rosebank field that hasn't even been signed off yet.
How is that suddenly of no financial benefit?

Signs of the times?
We had words for the Government today.
Mark gave a little speech, here’s a snippet -
“nobody will look back and say – great work Andy Burnham, you approved a new gasfield. And they won’t say – Rosebank (an oilfield with a 25yr lifetime) you really should have approved that too“
October 31, 2026 at 8:05 PM
🙄 If Burnham adds approval for the Rosebank oilfield to the catastrophic error over the Jackdaw gasfield, and then garnishes it with failure to bring #ThamesWater into public ownership, we will know for certain that all we really have is Starmer 2.0... www.theguardian.com/environment/...
