Incredible, how soon this catastrophe was forgotten.
I will never forget the dying dolphins in oilslick, all the lost newborn or stillborn dolphins and the horrifying pictures from the zombiesque crippled crustaceans even 10 years after the oil spill.

Lesser yellow-headed vulture. All vultures are good. Fun shapes. Eurasian magpie. An obvious fave, lmao. LOVE the stark black and white next the iridescence of the feathers. The way, depending on how the light hits them, they can be sober dapper little chaps, or these dramatic oilslick rainbows! Smooth-blled Ani. They don't look real but they are! Love the shape of their heads! I didn't have an ID on this beetle in my folder of beetles, alas. But beetles are great. I'm very partial to the iridescent ones like this. Fun colors and very shiny. Appeals to my magpie-brain, I suppose!
