The image shows a dilapidated wooden house with visible damage, including missing and broken planks. The structure appears aged and neglected, indicating possible abandonment or disrepair due to financial hardship. A person is standing in the doorway of the house, suggesting that despite its condition, it may still be inhabited by someone who finds refuge within these walls. The surrounding environment looks barren with sparse vegetation, reinforcing a sense of isolation. This image captures a moment from August 1936 during the Great Depression era and reflects on people living in poverty conditions like those experienced in Oklahoma County's Elm Grove area at that time.
