This snake was just seen hunting and eating fish for the first time ever
For the first time, a snake found in the arid, desert environment of the Arabian Peninsula has been recorded feeding opportunistically upon fish. The Oman saw-scaled viper (Echis omanensis) usually eats lizards, small mammals and amphibians, but two different specimens have been observed hunting and consuming garra (Garra barreimiae), a small freshwater fish. The observations were made in the United Arab Emirates, with the study details published in the journal Ecology and Evolution, alongside a review of fish-eating vipers. Python vs viper: what's the difference? Largest snake to ever live discovered in an Indian mine “The diets of snakes are important ecological variables that give insight into the evolution of species and how they interact with their environment,” the report, whose lead author is Theo Busschau from New York University Abu Dhabi, explains, “Among vipers (venomous snakes in the Viperidae family), feeding ecology has contributed significantly to the evolution of fang and skull morphology.” Saw-scaled vipers are highly venomous snakes that comprise the genus Echis and occur in northern parts of Africa and Western and Southern Asia. There are 12 species, which measure between 30cm to 90cm in length, and are named from the serrated keels on their scales. When...

The increased cost is now baked in:

Tolls from Iran and Oman
Increased insurance costs for shipping oil

Even if oil were to get back to pre-war levels, we will never see gas as cheap again.

What they're doing is parking tankers in the gulf of oman past the strait of hormuz chokepoint and loading up in the middle of the sea. They use small boats to ship their oil because they're quicker and can get past the strait safer.

How curious that Omani pilot Hamam, whose Arabic name translate as "Bath", was, in the scenario we are invited to imagine, overcome by a plumber.

You couldn't make it up, could you, as they say. Almost as if some director were having a laugh.

I have it c.30% of cargo value at $100 inc shipping and insurance Gulf of Oman to Asia, but there’s a lot of estimates out there. But agreed - very large relative to normal (10x!), but not a majority or anything. And yes, also just tanker shortages

No Power Can Master Hormuz: Oman and the Politics of Maritime Interdependence
For centuries, empires and regional powers have fought over the Strait of Hormuz, occupying its islands, fortifying its ports, taxing its commerce, and policing or disrupting its shipping. However, none of these powers could ever fully control this strategic waterway, located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, through military force alone. Historically, Hormuz derived its value from […]

Your opinion doesn't match the facts:

- The Mossad knew who was on the plane AND the pilots
- Omani pilots are NOT allowed to fly into Ben-Gurion
- The Omani copilot was banned in Oman due to extremist suspicions ( there is NO FN WAY that Mossad failed to know this detail
- the physics disagree
Probably just an extremist who had access to an airplane when he shouldn't have been and AirDubai did a piss poor job at doing a background check. Occam's razor strikes again.

Fun fact: On Alito's right wing media book tour, he also talked to Fox- twice. Mark Levin & Shannon Bream both interviewed Alito last week.
