There are plausible arguments for onshoring any given industry.
But onshoring all (or even most) industries is *the* recipe for economic stagnation.

2) They are long term and will raise revenue (which only happens in absence of onshoring)

just in the last 4 months, tariffs on Chinese iPhones have gone from 10% to 20% to 30% to 54% to 84% to 145% to 20% and now are threatened to go up to 45%. Like. this is not onshoring shit.

Of course the idea of onshoring industries using robotics defeats the ostensible purpose of onshoring industries to bring back manufacturing jobs

Prescriptions are too expensive, but I’m not convinced this flashy action from Trump will change anything.
Democrats took action and slashed insulin prices for folks on Medicare, started prescription price negotiation, and invested in onshoring pharmaceutical manufacturing.
