Alright. This video shows me launching the Electrobun playground app on Ubuntu. gtk-webkit works minus advanced compositing, the video is showing the optionally bundled CEF with complex OOPIF compositing, views:// schema, system tray and lots more.

DOOM is nice, but what if you could use a <electrobun-wgpu> html element right next to your <electrobun-webview> elements and instead of a fully isolated OOPIF you get a super powered GPU surface integrated into the host webview's DOM powered by (bun FFI or native FFI) -> wgpu.

If I can’t get that to work then I’ll fall back to using either or approach. That is: on linux when you choose to bundle CEF all your webviews will be CEF. Otherwise they will all be gtk webkit.

On other platforms when you choose to bundle CEF you can choose each webview and OOPIF and mix and match

I’m building an alternative to Electron. Electrobun has advanced OOPIF compositing requirements that I understand need a mature technology like QT instead of GTK where I could only get it to work in a super jank way and even then not perfectly like it works on mac and windows
