Maybe it was an early version of OpenRPG which came out in 2000. I definitely remember using this a couple of times when I was a kid, one gm got annoyed at me because my character sheet file was 300 kb

as much as I like foundry the annoying thing with it compared to openrpg is I keep forgetting foundry is hosted on my actual pc which means all of the files are on my pc so if I go on a trip and bring my laptop and I remember hours before session start that the entire campaign is ...on my pc.

I gotta say what I hate most with copyright/patents is that even though they are bad, due to not equally maintaining laws people reward it.

I am a long-time GM/Player involved even in the earliest days with VTT w/G+, pre-Roll20 & G+ overlays & dierollers w/ Josh Owens, back when used only FGrounds, OpenRPG and Camp Carto, Tabletop Sim, but I've been kept up current tech from sidelines.

Yep. I was using the WebRPG VTT back in the late '90s, and did some work on OpenRPG c. 2000. And before that, we were playing via email, forums, and IRC!
