Most people in the game industry do not know what OpenUSD is. They hear about it, but then look it up, and find hour long technical presentations which are very hard to understand.

GDC acceptance and denial emails have been sent out. I've got 3 acceptances, one denial!

If all goes well with travel, I'll be doing 3 Tool Design Roundtables, 2 OpenUSD Roundtables, and a talk titled: "What is OpenUSD, and why should I care?"

Working on a D3D12 app for studying implementations of upscalers, AA, frame gen, presentation models, or anything else that can affect image clarity. Got a bit side tracked with adding a shadertoy input mode (GLSL -> SPIRV -> DXIL cross-compile chain). Will also add an OpenUSD viewer.

I'm excited to share the open-source release of hdMitsuba, a USD Hydra delegate for the Mitsuba 3 renderer.

By leveraging the Hydra API, this project brings Mitsuba directly into OpenUSD workflows. The GIF below shows interactive rendering within usdview. 🧵

I’m happy to share that OpenUSD now supports accessibility annotations, opening the way for more people to enjoy 3D experiences.

It will take a while for assistive technologies to support this but I think it’ll be great for the future.
