I think the low level dopamine hit from attention is more addictive than opioids. People behave in bizarre ways, engage with the narrative, or just seek to antagonize to get that hit.

the DEA emergency scheduled 4 synthetic opioids at once, placing them in the same category as heroin. But even in its own report, it didn't find SR-17018 present in overdoses or ER visits, nor were there really any documented adverse reactions to the drug. But the ban will likely become permanent

While I do not personally use opioids, I have known a lot of trans women who did use them, and I don't care for rich white tech bros like Howard Arson turning their lives into the punchline of his "epic" tweets.
He made a really "epic" tweet once comparing bitcoin to sudokus you can buy heroin with and since liberals think the worst thing you can do is a narcotic they disapprove of personally, it bought him endless street cred which he is now sailing to glory on.
I’m astounded he still has such a large following; he harasses women, palestinians, mocks trans men and says he will look trans kids in the eye when he sacrifices them. He has nothing of value to bring to the table.
