Things that are never my size in opshops, until today.

One of my local opshops has a pricing system of $1 for anything we can’t identify.

I like that policy.

Unused expensive gifts often show up in opshops. There is probably a lesson about spending time and not money, or something like that.

Trip to mountains for a medical appointment, and thought I may as well hit a few opshops on the way.

I like opshopping at this time of year, lots people having a clear out so opshops price stuff to sell. Nothing particularly good today but smalls pay the rent as old dealers always told me.

I don’t buy magazines, but I do buy two dollar coffee table books from opshops.

No pages of advertisements to wade through, and once I have finished reading it I can sell it for at least ten dollars.

I overhead John Banks giving David Seymour the loudest advice about his 'legacy' at a Remuera cafe last week if anybody genuinely wants advice from the crypt. (I was just there for the opshops, which are not bad).

July 4, 2025 at 6:48 AM
I stopped in a couple of small town opshops on the way home today, where everything here cost me $12.

Japanese canisters
Czech glass candle holders
12 lego city boards
Cast iron egg stand
