3/ This fall, over a million kids could have no after school option. In Umatilla, OR - a low income rural town - notice just went out that the programs would shut down. Low income parents will have to find expensive (and likely far away) alternatives, or cut back working hours.

People would be getting so much free art from me if I got a universal basic income. I only charge for art cus I need money to survive. If I had the option to, I wouldn’t charge. I get so much more enjoyment out of creating something just to create, rather than expecting something in return

For option (A), the fund pays and then investors get a same-size tax discount. Very few low-income people have lots of passive investment income, so the 15% "floor rate" vs low-income 13% rate ain't a huge gain. +2% of a small revenue pie.
I think it just makes payments happen sooner.

I get why people are telling me not to take money out of my 401k, but my parents are poor, and my liquid savings run out in January 🤷🏻 I'm doing myself no favors living by the "NEVER EVER TOUCH THE 401K" principle, it's just prob inevitable.

The ACA is not a low income program. It is an option for people who are not eligible for employer sponsored group health coverage to buy insurance (the only option if pre-existing conditions exist). Small business owners, farm owners, 1099 contract employees use the ACA.

i've been chronically online since forever and i truly don't think patreon exclusive stuff is a sustainable option for most creatives. the number of followers who have disposable income vs the amount of work hours you need to make those exclusives just don't math right. it mostly leads to burnout.
„Just do a Patreon/Kickstarter“ is not the helpful advice you think it is. I am happy for every person who finds success with that, but most of us do not. It’s, again, survivor bias.

Municipal bonds are how state and local communities pay for improvements to roads and bridges and highways and public facilities. Gutting state and local budgets will be a massive blow at a time when countries like China are lapping us on infrastructure.
