the biggest blind spot in mainstream politics media was black organizing across the south
The Dem inroads in the South are legitimately shocking. Huge wins in North Carolina and Georgia, South Carolina and Texas likely to flip, House seats deep in Appalachia swinging hard toward Dems.
This is big: Dems just flipped North Carolina's 11th district.

This is in Western NC, in Appalachia, there's Ashville but also lots of rural territory there, Trump won it by 10 points. It's also where Trump lied his ass off about Biden's disaster response.

Jamie Ager is on track to win it by 20!

This and Black organizing in the South... [some people won't want to acknowledge it but it's true]
This was the No Kings election. Do not let comfortable elites rewrite history. As elites collapsed, millions of Americans organized to stop a would-be king and his corrupt coterie of crooks, collaborators, and cowards.

Together we made history. And we're not done. ❌👑

Black organizing, Latino organizing, Indigenous organizing, Muslim organizing, LGBTQ+ organizing, union organizing, women organizing- these are the people who did the work leading up to yesterday. They fought back the KKK.

That was a special election in Florida to fill out Rubio's seat, Nixon can keep organizing and run against Moody again in 2028

I do not think the people doing this organizing feel antagonized by union anthems
Are you shitting me. Folks across the south organize and work and rally and y'all are gonna reply with Union battle songs. Last night's victories belong entirely to the southerners who worked for them with no help from the rest of the country.
Oh have you heard the glorious news, is the cry from every mouth!
Charleston is taken, and the rebels put to rout!
And Beauregard the chivalrous, he ran to save his bacon!
When he saw General Sherman’s Yanks, and “Charleston is taken!”

Everyone excited about Texas? Donate to Texas Organizing Project. Candidates come and go but organizing infrastructure lasts organizetexas.org
A total Texas flip wasn't in my wildest dreams. That it is possible - that the Dems have the chance to finally unrig the state - is the most consequential thing that this election can possibly produce, and yes I'm counting impeachments in that
I am jaw-dropped.

Democrats are leading in enough seats at the moment to flip the Texas state Senate.

Strong correlation here with folks who have never been part of an organizing project that won.
One or two people I know IRL have been publicly poo-pooing midterm enthusiasm on the terms that "liberals are just going to return to brunch," and I think it crystalized something for me, which is that there is a tendency within some of our movements to be deeply, venomously suspicious of joy

Even if Angie Nixon loses a close race in Florida, the entire Democratic establishment has to look in the mirror and eat shit. She did with straight up organizing what the data geniuses assumed was impossible

Stacy Abrams redux re: organizing. Black women get shit done with or without support and it’s amazing how close Nixon got while being undermined by centrist idiots

The thing I’ll add is only that much of this movement happened largely because of local organizing
not only was this the first truly decisive election in 15 years, not only was it the first real repudiation the MAGA Republican Party has experienced, but it is an earthquake in the South. with investment — and with laws protecting the right to vote — the whole region could be blue.

every single one of the 28 measures opposing data centers won; organizing for those measures, against oligarchs, against undesirable imposed tech, against surveillance, against cognitive destruction, against unmaking AND

You can thank Southerners by no longer shitting on this region of the country. There is a legacy of radical organizing here that never stopped, and it goes far beyond election season.

Incredible things happening in organizing

Yes, but you have to support socialist organizing everywhere. Mamdani's candidacy was made possible by a decade or more of socialist organizing in New York.

Organizing beats conventional wisdom. The battle for the Democratic Party starts today.

Organizing Beat Out Democratic Conventional Wisdom
Democrats’ sweeping victory in the midterms showed why the old playbook should be thrown out of the window—and that the Left is on the march.

I think everyone knew what they would say and I think that organizing is going to be key to forcing them to change course.

One small example: The No Kings folks (Indivisible) explicitly got off X and stuck to BlueSky/some IG and that organizing turned out pretty well
Jokes aside, Bluesky effectively replaced the blogosphere of 2002-2009 which drove the blue wave of 2006 and election of Barack Obama in 2008.

Politically homogeneous social media is GOOD for organizing and generating enthusiasm. We need to protect it this time.
In the end, the "Joe Rogan of the Left" was the friends we made on BlueSky along the way...

Working people united at the ballot box to create change in our communities, but the organizing doesn’t stop there! Baristas are still organizing to create change in their workplace and are saying #NoContractNoCoffee until a fair contract is won ☕

Someone needs to write an article of the effect of romance organizing bc I think it's been big.

People don't reaaaaally want to admit it but Tyler Robinson probably removed a fairly important structural pillar of Republican organizing.

Indivisible organizing against Schumer
Contact your senators and demand they oppose another term for Chuck Schumer as leader — and insist on a public and transparent process for choosing new leadership.

Schumer has a lower approval rating than Trump. After our seismic wins, we need new leadership to define this new era of politics.

Stacey Abrams deserves all the flowers.

She is responsible for the organizing going on in the Deep South. #Georgia #Mississippi
November 4, 2026 at 3:48 PM
Stacey Abrams has been organizing in Mississippi. Dems should be taking it very seriously now.
