Bad fanfic is like nails on a chalkboard. Good fanfic is hard to find. (I think I've written some decent examples, though some of it is niche enough that it's nearly originalfic. >_> But, y'know, no disputing with tastes!)

This was a fascinating rundown of the issues.
As one who's had over 850,000 words (mostly fanfiction but including original fiction) stolen by such a company, I think the only acceptable answer is "You don't get to commercially profit from theft, start over again." Cost to the thieves irrelevant.

Beginning to wonder if I should take down all my originalfic from Amazon and only put up my Civilized Felines stuff.
If they had asked permission – before I found out what power pigs the systems were – I would probably have given it, and for a token payment for the originalfic! But noooo, they are thieves!

If she hadn't poisoned the fandom by being terrible and using her money to hurt others, I could propose plausible headcanons for why archaic usages would be there, but she's terrible so I'm gonna keep my headcanons in case they come in handy for originalfic.
