Afaik DMNS is only museum rad enough to include Cretaceous Cannabis in their Hell Creek diorama.

(There’s also a little gnome riding an ornithomimid, presumably unrelated)

For the final sequence of the episode, we move even further north to Alaska where we encounter two coelurosaurian theropods, both of which featured in earlier episodes: an ornithomimid labelled Ornithomimus, and the tyrannosaurid Nanuqsaurus. #PrehistoricPlanet

A selection of Mexican dinosaurs commissioned for an upcoming program at a local library:

Acantholipan, a nodosaur with a large spike somewhere on its back.

Xenovenator, a dome-headed troodontid.

Mexidracon, an ornithomimid freak with long hands.

Monday! In other words... time for yet another #DinosaurOfTheWeek! You ready?

Today's DotW is... Struthiomimus!

This toothless ornithomimid features some impressive legs - both long and powerful, they allowed Struthiomimus to run really fast!

I had a dream last night that I was prospecting for fossils on a blue, fluffy cloud day and came across a pair of ornithomimid feet, the rest of the fossil sheared away by erosion.

Because even when dreaming my brain is like “Let’s be realistic about this.”

The ornithomimid is another feathered Dino swiftly running about Alaska!
The young ones were already covered in downy, hair-like feathers for camouflage and insulation! The adults had full blown WINGS! Not for flight, just for display. 😎

For #dinovember day 19, here's one of my best-selling pieces, called Cretaceous Showdown. Hand drawn in Photoshop around 22 years ago. #SciArt #paleoart

Currently, my favorite dinosaur is Deinocheirus.

There's something genuinely incredible how this bizarre ornithomimid was only known for their two giant arms before the full skeleton pictured a bizarre but astoundingly remarkable devil duck of Mongolia.

Morning! Day 12 #ArtAdventCalendar!

Dinner time. A hungry Tyrannosaur chases down a fleeing Ornithomimus. The time is the end of the Cretaceous Period, and the end of the long realm of the dinosaurs is in sight.

Mostly hand-drawn in Photoshop, but the Rex head was a 3d render.

.... we simply had to use the same logic as we did in the “it’s not really Velociraptor but of course we can’t call it an indeterminate velociraptorine” case…

#ArtBoost (yes, I'm still doing these) today is for the brilliant Junseok Choi aka Tupandactyl (I cannot find on BSky), I think based in South Korea. Is doing very likeable and colourful #pterosaurs #stemmammals #dinosaurs... absolutely love this work, I'd like to see it accompany published works :)

#2025SVP McKee: Two other less complete specimens have also been found. Very small for an ornithomimid. Also bears resemblance to a specimen from the Kaiparowits Formation, and to the later Ornithomimus.
