Living with #PTSD from inpatient stays permanently alters your sense of safety. I thought managing meant failing to fix it, but I can't erase the trauma. The same applies to an #ostomy. You can't go back to an intact intestine; you can only manage the future you have.

Changing a pouch: gather supplies, gently remove barrier, clean skin w/ warm water only, measure new barrier for a precise fit, hold skin smooth when applying the new barrier to avoid wrinkles. Gently press the barrier to ensure a strong seal. What is your routine? #stoma #ostomy
