WOW. I experienced something like that at my first Otakon (a panel on body horror and Junji Ito), but even that one managed to get to 20 minutes!
What a putz.

That's certainly not how it was presented when he tagged along with some Sola staff and Shinji Aramaki for an appearance at Otakon a few years back for a panel.
But it figures even that was him just blowing smoke up people's asses.

Remember when @sevenseasentertainment.com put out a single-volume, American-made Speed Racer manga?
Yeah, I completely forgot it myself until I saw a copy of it at Otakon. Just read it today, and it's actually pretty good. Speed takes on a rival who's killed in a race & revived as a killer android.

We watched it at @brainchild129.bsky.social room party this past Otakon and I was the only one who had watched any Prince of Tennis. They spent so little time on any of the boys I cared about. Barely a mention of snake tennis!!!!

That was before he’d gotten so openly weird that I had to cut bait and move on. He had a solo panel on SPT Layzner that otakon, his fave. I got there 15 minutes in and his presentation had already ended and gone to q&a.
I could talk about my faves for _hours_ haha 😅

Does this make the Otakon 2026 lanyards that say Final Fantasy XIV Evercold January 2027 on it more valuable? Because it got delayed a few weeks?

So uh…US con plans:
• Sakura-Con is now a maybe; waiting to see how Panels handles content review this year. Otherwise I’m seeing work colleagues like last year.
• Otakon leave is approved; what’s left is booking flight tix and choosing which panels go into the panelist Hunger Games this Feb.

Of course, thanks to Otakon, Aoni Productions, and Okiayu and Nojima-san for their time! It was fun talking to them about their profession.

I’d been feeling burnt out from big shows like Otakon and AnimeNYC. The dealers room at AnimeNYC is so big that i spent two full days in there and still didn’t see everything. I figured a smaller con would force me to be more proactive about having fun since there’s not as much to do. I was right.

Not sure if it was the same orgy, but I was on the same floor as an Otakon orgy room party.
Disclaimer: I've never gone to a room party (I'm not cool enough :D), but I know what it was because the walls were thinner than you'd expect, and you could hear that shit going down from several rooms away.

And finally, I can't believe that @bwprowl.bsky.social, @vestenet.bsky.social, and I had such an amazing panel for the column at this year's Otakon. Chris and I go into experience here.
Maybe you'll see that panel on the internet at some point...
