I really want to run a campaign with my friend group to explore the outerplanes and have fun in sigil, but god damn does no one online do anything interesting with the settings nor bother with it after 2e

I bought that 5e planescape WoTC pack and it too was kind of garbage before they ended it.

Outerplanes would have been stuff like where demons come from, or angels. but without the world tree this world is cut off from it's afterlifes / alternate worlds. demons and angels might exist, but at this point they'd be home-grown, from smaller numbers of them that were left behind.

most DMs don't play in the outerplanes for good reason. though innerplanes are even stranger. but popping around crystal spheres using gates or spelljammer style ships is rather common.
