Please don’t think that all over65s are so gullible, or that we don’t recognise the impacts on our children and grandchildren. And yes we’ll be affected too.

It is a huge problem. In Hoxton LTN consultation over65s were 3x over-represented & under 24 age bracket response was 3% despite making 29% of the local population. These things are almost invariably dominated by ageing objectors who do not represent the concerns or priorities of the wider community

Never understood why wording of tax red lines didn’t lead govt to say eg … ‘our aging population is something we need to adapt to. Only fair those with wealth in pension pots contribute as part of that. So a new 3p basic and 5p higher rate Health and Social Care Levy paid by over65s for over65s’

Cameron scrapped the age tax allowance for over65s of 10500 which was worth an extra £2100.
He increased NI by 1% for all people paying into a private pension for an increased RP that unlike the old style could NOT be passed onto partners. Triple lock was to keep people quiet about the cut
