Skeleton Grove

Beneath Mount Ossa (1617m), a stand of dead Pencil Pines (Athrotaxis cupressoides).

Pencil Pines are endemic to Tasmania and are thought to be remnants of Gondwana.

They are NOT fire tolerant.
