I really enjoy when characters have linked overworld dialogues like this… some would say “they should’ve had a support instead!” but I think the sense of cast interconnectedness and a larger world was just as well achieved through this

I don't know if Koji Kondo is a musical genius or a hack fraud for reusing Flower Garden, Super Mario World Overworld, and Delfino Plaza's tracks for the other levels without younger me noticing

honestly mharwyb’s ponytail doesn’t get used too much in the overworld. not sure there’s a speaking npc with it either.

ooh, I don't think I've ever seen beta screenshots of this young Link model, Goron model, old bomb flowers, or these overworld minimaps!

Mario and Luigi's MLSS sprite sheets are all revised now on TSR, check and download all the updated sheets for the fixes and newly added missing/unused sprites. Here's some examples of these sprites I ripped

oh, but all the rest of the graphics is by remar. all the dungeons, the overworld, the interface, the enemies, effects etc

Its the flying. You CAN put yourself out in the overworld if you have wings but are not flying. The issue here is if you enter the overworld while flying you can't land there, which means you also can't put yourself out without having hands.

I don’t even want NPC date events (those wouldn’t end well anyways).
But could we instead just have NPCs popping up somewhere in the overworld with new text every few patches or so, so it doesn’t feel like they’re completely forgotten/written out??

• (Asked about NPC date events) While I understand the request, what if it doesn't align what what you expect a date would look like? I'm not saying anything will happen to a given character, but if they were to leave the story, it would constrain us.

forgot overworld quest enemies don't scale accordingly with relative level so i just hit art of war once and all of them instantly dropped dead

I just did one of the missions where you see sebulba in the overworld and if you talk to him he tells you a story of the good old podracing days and then you play the flashback race as him. It’s That Good Shit.

Final Fantasy 3's overworld theme is at least top 3 in the series btw. One of the best songs Uematsu has ever composed.

Had a dream last night that someone made a Mario 3 hack that was on some Baba is You shit for the overworld map. Like you could get a special mushroom that let you draw new lines and level dots. Choosing to interpret this as an omen of a beautiful new future.
