"Cassowary"-brand gloves.

For the discerning Lady looking to disembowel lhorny ongshoremen.

Cassowary eggs are neon green, as a warning to would-be oviraptors.

Pterodactyl is an incorrect term people use when talking about pterosaurs.

Oviraptors were actually good parents, unlike sauropods.

Dinosaurs DID exist.

Dinosaurs were NOT dragons, and T. rex did NOT have wings.

Chickens are NOT direct descendants of T. rex.

Okay, I’m gonna go rot now ❤️

In my effort to get consistent pours in our Cerata Sheath (which requires pouring around a large insert) I've streamlined my pouring technique for all our insert/void designs, including the Falkors and OviRaptors. I really like the new shape it gives the colors vs the old horitizonal lines! #dongsky

We know from mass spectrometry that oviraptor eggs contained biliverdin & protoporphyrin dyes, meaning they were ALSO blue-green & presumably for the same reason: camouflage protection for ground nests.

Speckles & color variation would have been used to discriminate brood-parasite eggs.
Dinosaur origin of egg color: oviraptors laid blue-green eggs
Protoporphyrin (PP) and biliverdin (BV) give rise to the enormous diversity in avian egg coloration. Egg color serves several ecological purposes, including post-mating signaling and camouflage. Egg c...

Oviraptor (2023)

Last one for today. A pair of same-sex Oviraptors incubating rocks and one stolen egg from the neighbours. Based off of stories of same-sex pairings in modern birds and the flightless bald eagle who brooded a rock in a nest on the ground.

Thanks to the current article I'm working on I've just written the same story about oviraptors being attentive parents rather than egg-thieves for what feels like the 50th time.

🦖 Daily Paleo 🦖; Berthasaura leopoldinae

From Early Cretaceous Goio-Erê Formation, Brazil, the 1 meter "Bertha lizard" is a noasaurid ceratosaur sporting features convergent with oviraptors. It's thought they had teeth as juveniles that were lost and replaced with a beak in adults
