worth adding though this isn't true with a lot of distros and for good reason (packagekit usually makes you update the whole system in a more offline state; so updating fedora and a few other distros via the Discover/Software app). also if you do use the computer while it updates shit can break

I've been talking with the devs of the Furilabs FLX1 about the battery life issue, the most likely fault appears to be GNOME Software and Packagekit doing a bunch of random shit in the background when the phone should be idle, we're doing an overnight test to confirm it.

i think its all solved i had a broken install on packagekit which was preventing literally anything from working
right now i remember why i stopped messing with linux i have a busted install or something cuz half of the system updates or commands to get things working just fail

Fedora so far has better GNOME integration, GNOME software/packagekit doesn’t feel like it’s completely out of place, got annoyed on openSUSE that YAST was the main way to do things
