I hadn’t watched last week’s PanSto because I was on vacation, and from the Twitter art I assumed there was ship teasing between Brief and Polyester but I see that it was just fanart (it’s OK no harm done)

Interesting how, despite being so committed in some aspects, the animation is allowed to fluctuate between asset usage that feels timely and blatantly more modern Yoshinari school (he's co-AD apart from being Kaneko's mentor) sequences. Easy for Pansto to get away with it since it always mixes ideas

The biggest improvements it offers are conceptually on a writing stage, and he's only there for the storyboard, but Amecchi rules regardless. Even if Pansto is the last show you'd like to "pauses", he doesn't hesitate to hold a gag for this long

Not revolutionary, but it feels distinctly PanSto-ish while also being fresh enough... which I can't say of the other skits so far. Especially not Imaishi's first one this week, since for some reason they felt the need to retread ground *again*. Looked cool in spots, but waaaaay better second half

Except the entire plot is replaced with a pastiche of card game jokes. Filtering them through Pansto makes them nastier, but the most entertaining part is how the allusions to genre classics like the heart of the cards are turned on their head when the protagonist is the superficial jackass

I'd have preferred if they comically moved on from it way faster, returning to the half-length anthology format which is where the series was at its best. Between that and just not loving the script for this one, I found it watchable but definitley on the lower end for PanSto
