Please add education to this list. Example: in California, until the 1980s, a college bachelor degree was almost free at one of at least 4 public university systems. UC as in UCLA and UCSB. Cal as in Cal State LA. Cal Poly as in Cal Poly Pomoma. And city colleges such as Pasadena and Santa Monica.
