These Patternist novels don't get enough attention out of Octavia Butler's catalog. It's really clear she had been working with the themes from Earthseed and Lilith's Brood from early on. I love her writing 🖤🖤🖤 📚💙

I had heard of Octavia E. Butler, but wasn’t familiar with her work until I picked up the second part of her Patternist series on the strength of its amazing John Blanche cover.
I’m so glad I did! Even jumping in with a prequel this is extremely compelling, thoughtful science fiction. A great read!

I had heard of Octavia E. Butler, but wasn’t familiar with her work until I picked up the second part of her Patternist series on the strength of its amazing John Blanche cover.
