There was a concerted effort in the 1980s-90s to dissuade the government from acting on AIDS by blaming not a virus but the "gay lifestyle," be it drugs or "promiscuity." If it's caused by a virus, it necessitates a public response. If it's caused by a lifestyle, then it's just individualized risks.

A Japanese improvement (a really good one) on Paxlovid. I am so grateful for non-US research right now.
Published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Peer-reviewed. Large sample size. Sound methodology. An antiviral pill has, for the FIRST time, been shown to PREVENT COVID-19 in individuals exposed to SARS-CoV-2. Ensitrelvir blocks the enzyme coronaviruses need to make new copies of themselves.

Ran across another friend who didn't get Paxlovid bc it was hundreds of dollars so here's this link again. You have to have a prescription to enroll and will need to educate the pharmacist but it works. No one should pay hundreds of dollars for Paxlovid! Privatization sucks!

Ran across another friend who didn't get Paxlovid bc it was hundreds of dollars so here's this link again. You have to have a prescription to enroll and will need to educate the pharmacist but it works. No one should pay hundreds of dollars for Paxlovid! Privatization sucks!

I am taking Paxlovid for Covid. It really helps. If you contract Covid and are told it costs $500-700 for a 5 day dose, go to this site and Medicare patients can get it free. Your pharmacy will do the rest.

Paxlovid does inhibit viral replication and can reduce viral burden, but that alone isn't a reason for everyone with COVID to take it. One thing I would push back on, though, is being told not to take Paxlovid because “you’re not very sick.”

Glad to see this effort. Really, really hope they consider trying remdesivir + Paxlovid combination in a placebo trial. There are dozens of case studies documenting chronic infections cleared through treatment, most w/remdesivir + Paxlovid.
