Isn't it ironic how the "great American economy" has a section that thinks exposure pays the bills? 🤔 Creatives deserve better! #PayYourArtists #blueresistance

Key word: "Pay". A key tenet of MAGA is not to pay for anything, especially work of Creatives. 😠

No excuses here. I’ve got a #dnd adventure, Horrors of Mount Throndor, which I put up some time ago (2 years?) with some MidJourney AI art. I’m immensely proud of the adventure itself, and it’s time to clean it up. I’ve taken it down for sale for now. No AI art. Full stop. #PayYourArtists

Thanks to @nefariousdro.bsky.social for his generous contribution to #Gutterthon2024! He receives our Undying Thanks and this Green Schreckmark to demonstrate his status as a Verfied User of The Cultural Gutter! #Gutterthon2024 igg.me/at/Guttertho...
It's Max Schreck as Count Orlok! His glowering visage is green on a green background that is kind of flower-shaped.

This is the attitude that is destroying the creative industry. You see it as important for your reach in a community, but you feel that paying for the artwork is beneath you so you use a tool that steals from artists.

Shame on you SF Rose Society.

[ #noAI #payyourartists ]
A placard for the SF Rose Society’s mother’s day show. The advertising shows an AI generated image for the advertising. The reply I received when I pointed this out via their website’s public comments form. The text reads: Hi Kelsey, Thanks for your comments. Artists are expensive to hire and or commission. It's not a high priority since we want to attract people to our show. Even a very, very tiny percentage of people passionate about roses look past the advertising or see it for what it is -- advertising. Some of our past ads were images of superimposed balloons, which is probably worse. I get your comment about art, but it's out of our bailiwick and is not a part of our budget for now. I hope you enjoyed the roses.
