Driving for a living in the UK.

Congestion charges, drop off charges, PCNs, petrol/charging, ridculous insurance costs, new tyres because of all the pot holes….

Then you have a very minor accident, dented passenger door and its no longer a nightmare but the seventh circle of hell.

😡😡😡

This bus gate is super easy to avoid. Signage is clear, there’s an escape lane literally to the right, and it’s right in the city centre where people shouldn’t be driving anyway.

All the figures show is a concerning lack of attention to surroundings while driving ; especially in city centre.
Bus lane fine hotspot where nearly 88% of all PCNs are issued
The number of PCNs issued by the council almost doubled from 2023 to 2024

Some of our recent work. This hot-spot is notorious for cars with no plates, SORN cars, untaxed cars. We lifted 12 cars, issued 36 PCNs, and reported misused of 15 trade plates to the DVLA.

UNEMPLOYED GPs by @nhsengland.bsky.social

GP training posts up 4000pa

Funding to GP practices cut 20% since 2016 (£2bn)

NHSE introduced ARRS via PCNs (£1.7bn) with GP practices ‘given’ staff in alternative roles for ‘free’

GP practices with no money forced to accept ARRS cannot afford GPs

Just 88 full time equivalent (FTE) GPs have been recruited*

Using ARRS to fund & recruit some of the 3000+ (FTE) available to work is too restrictive & not working

To ‘Bring back the Family Doctor’ @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social need to fund GP Practices not PCNs

Really hard to gauge what's happening in Nova Scotia politics right now. Here's three recent polls documented by @canadianpolling.bsky.social — the PC spread is 11 points, with the Liberal spread 12 points and the NDP 18 (!)

Here @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social being told that a qualified GP can’t get a job is signing on (Oct 2024)

He has allocated £80m to PCNs to employ 1000 GPs - just 200 have been because it’s an ill thought out scheme, too restrictive & no security

Just fund GP practices & let them employ GPs

GP CRISIS

GPs unemployed @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social has been told this enough

£100m for ARRS GPs has seen just 88 employed so far

Potentially 3000 GPs available for work now if funding was given to GP practices

PCNs & ARRS (additional roles) isn’t working & a restrictive employment practice

Before Smith’s UCP abused & decimated family doctors, losing both current & future generations, AB family doctors ran the #1 ranked PCNs in 🇨🇦.

Instead, UCP offer up substandard so-called primary care with large corporations, like SDM, diverting public funds.

PCN ARRS

176 FTE salaried GPs & 13 FTE locums in Dec ‘24
Headcount 348 salaried GPs & 20 locums

65 FTE salaried GPs & 5 locums in June - so the gain 111 salaried & 8 locums

JUST 119 FTE GPs

Headcount 157 salaried & 11 locum GPs in PCNs in June 2024

MAX gain is only 200 GPs

Worrying story about Ealing pressurising parking wardens to deliver about 1.2 PCNs per hour of their shift.

Surely if parking enforcement is successful, people will break parking rules less, so pushing wardens to work to a rate of tickets issued per hour is nonsense and unfair.
