(Yes, I know about Ravenpaw/Barley becoming word of god official too but that’s from the graphic novel adaptation. This is main series stuff.)

I’m also weirdly happy that Pebblenose and Galestar are amicable exes?? I think they’re the first divorced couple on good terms this franchise has ever had

oh my god. Warrior cats actually has word of god gay cats now.
Excerpt from ‘Warrior Cats: Stormclan’s Folly’ It was a dark brown tabby warrior from WindClan who finally broke the silence. “What?” he muttered. Thrushcall, Stripestar guessed. He was standing shoulder to shoulder with Pebblenose, whose expression was every bit as grim as his mate’s. “What do you mean, join them?”

Been reading the new warrior cats super edition
There is black text in a clean arial font on a white background. The text on the page reads 'Galestar sighed. "Pebblenose is a wise tom. As my deputy, he always gave me good advice. I never set a paw wrong while I followed it. So if he believes that this dream of ours is folly, perhaps... Perhaps it is." "Folly?" breathed Stripestar. "You don't really believe that... do you?" Galestar made no reply.' The 'folly?' is underlined, and a crudely drawn maroon arrow leads to the top of the page, pointing out a matching underline of the Book's title: 'Stormclan's Folly'. Next to it in the same maroon color, in a messy handwriting is written: 'UH OH!'

"Pebblenose spent most of his time with Thrushcall now, and he seemed all the happier for it. It brought Galestar happiness, too, to see Pebblenose content at last."
this is while galestar is thinking about her and pebblenose's amicable break up. you let ravenpaw call barley his mate, do it here.

tell it was the authors revealing their hands. like 99% of the time when they did it was a big "this character WILL die or leave the clan the next chapter" warning sign. the only believable friend w/o being Told Info was pebblenose and he left EARLY.

I'm gonna offer some rare pairs from more recent books. Flipclaw x Feather of Flying Hawk (Stormfur and Brook's son) and Roofspring x Shadowsight. Also gotta give love to the first canon gay couple in the novels, Pebblenose and Thrushcall!
