Unrelated, I also had a roommate who went to a different school, went to a party came home after going straight to a police station after she'd been r*ped. I was horrified for her.

That didn't mean r*pe didn't happen on my campus. In my junior year, an art girl near one of the buildings I worked at was jumped going to her car after working on a project late night. She was pulled into the brush, r*ped & let go. We called campus police for weeks to give safe walks. I used it.

Talking about the whole #Cornell thing w/ other women just really brings home how many times we’ve had to laugh off, joke around, or be silly and playful to avoid being in a situation where we will probably get R*PED. And it’s just the normalization of rape culture.

I first saw it at an OB/GYN appointment a year or two ago. I did feel like the doctor engaged with ME more (e.g. more eye contact) rather than staring at the computer while they took notes. This was my first time seeing it at our ped. The appointment was for my 17yo and he consented.
