William Turner was at Pembroke College, Cambridge, roughly between 1526 and 1538. He botanised extensively in the Fens. He travelled in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, he clearly observed birds closely and communicated with bird catchers.

I forget to post this on Sunday, but always a privilege to sit in the glorious chapel of @pembroke1347.bsky.social - Wren’s first building, consecrated in 1665. It has one very unexpected feature - can anyone guess?

Well he’s very funny. We’re doing a gig in Pembroke but you can’t come because it’s in Pembroke, it’s free and it’s sold out. @pembroke1347.bsky.social
That was a very good interview, and of course the professor has a way of explaining things that just get you so mesmerized. The guy is beyond genius. He's also a bit of a loony. Lol
