#penmanship
Totally love it… teach kids penmanship again. And no AI, teach them critical thinking without electronic assistance.

I take this VERY seriously when it comes to our neurodivergent queen Taylor’s penmanship

Random Vassago headcanons:

-He's an early riser and a morning person (so bright)

-Has an early bedtime (when he's asleep he's dead to the world)

-He snores

-He has outstanding penmanship and drawing sigils but his drawing skills are shit (some how)

- He HATES chocolate

I wonder if we're going to see a revival in penmanship classes at all levels of education to accommodate the return to handwritten exams and essays.

#tavqotd Fun Fact

One might think otherwise, but Ryld has beautiful, almost calligraphic penmanship.

It happened to me: My penmanship was complimented at the polling place. Then he looked at my signature.

Sweden is removing "screens" from schools going back to pencils, paper & textbooks! We need to follow that example & also bring back penmanship!

OTD 1826, Mr Lewis was promoting his "Mathematical and Anti-Angular" system of penmanship in Aberdeen.

Lewis and his son, who ran a "Royal Institution" for penmanship in London (the royalty in question is unspecified), spent about 60 years promoting and teaching their system.

By the 1850s, Lewis (the son, or perhaps an imposter) had diversified and was advertising himself in Yorkshire as "Professor of Phrenology, Plain and Ornamental Penmanship; Practical Mathematics, Phonography, Book-keeping, and English Grammar".

The handwriting, it's fair to say, could be worse.

like...what???!?! this can happen?!?!?! ive been trying to undo my death-grip for a while and im starting to think the entire issue was not death grip at all but that my knowledge of penmanship was 0. humbled and pwned. ((slowly shrinks and transforms into a corn cob)) fuck

it's @895. how is your left-hand penmanship already so good?!? forever amber(dextrous) (this is an Abbott & Costello joke)

I'm super jealous of people with good penmanship.

Why on earth would I buy penmanship tracing forms when I could simply draw them with my right hand and then trace them with my left

That is what I do as a professor at Dartmouth. However, the method does not scale bc we are not allowed to use teaching assistants. Grading essays is already very time consuming. Grading *hand written* essays created by people born long after penmanship was taught in school? Takes far longer.

Yes...I think we have lost something. I was in a tiny bookstore in Ingersoll ontario Canada the other day and all the book reviews were hand written...I loved seeing the penmanship. Mine has always been shit but I have always admired nice writing.

My mom is 90 and she still has most of her wits. Still has extraordinary penmanship and creativity. But she has her crazy moments and sure as hell couldn’t text to a picture.
No way I would support this for her.

This is elder abuse.

I think doing work in front of the teacher is fine. My only problem would have been my slow-as-shit penmanship. Throughout my entire college career, I needed keyboarding as an accommodation. (As well as extended time, particularly for essays).
