Just spitballing here but maybe dude checked the temperature among colleagues to find there's a broad consensus to say SCOTUS doesn't (yet) have jurisdiction in the Suncor case, and so his vote for the oil companies on the merits won't matter

Ben Edgerly Walsh with an update on the Immunity for Big Oil bill. Vermont's very own @balint.house.gov was part of a push which resulted in a vote on the bill being canceled, pushing any consideration of this horrible legislation off until after the November elections. #PeoplevBigOil #MakeBigOilPay
