Permaculture principle: Use Stacking Functions! Design elements to serve multiple purposes. A chicken coop? Eggs, fertilizer (chicken manure!), AND pest control (they eat bugs!). Maximize your space & resources! #permaculture #gardening #chickens #stackingfunctions #backyardgarden

Permaculture layouts predominantly utilize non-native and often problematic/invasive species that aren't as beneficial as native ones. Here is a Peach Tree Guild with Revision. #themistymushroom #permaculture #gardening #treeguilds #conservation #livewiththeland #patriotsprotect

🐞 Weekend to fix some bugs and improve some features...

💡What would you like to see in the Agroecology Map?

No, if you drive an old-style car, you'll notice the same - fewer bugs.
There is regional variation but habitat loss, deforestation, mono-culture farming, pesticide use & climate change have decimated insect populations globally.
We urgently need rewilding & permaculture farming.

Upon further research it appears everything I'm interested in seems to be a tenant of permaculture

Work with the Earth and she will provide. Live your life to leave the Earth a better place and she will provide for generations.

Enjoy delicious plants
Be friends with bugs and critters
ITS COOL!!!!
i have 3 interests (currently) in the realm of gardening

1. permaculture
2. companion gardening
3. composting

I'll keep adding to this list!!!!

In case anyone was wondering, Permaculture isn't actually an agricultural practice but just a bunch of liberal platitudes, twee drawings of gardens, and email chain style Posts such as "eating bugs is not only woke for the climate....but delicious?"

Ladybugs making more ladybugs to protect the peach trees. Shipova pear grafted onto aronia starting to take off - using black chokeberry as a rootstock dwarfs the shipova and leads to fruit production years earlier than a full size tree. #fruit #permaculture #grafting #gardening #beneficialinsects

... i was saying to have poultry like quail to utilize this resource. i never mentioned race. just a lack of poultry. you are the one obsessed with race because you are the one who is racist. i've been researching permaculture for years. bugs are amazing if you know how to use them to your advantage

Spotted this red-and-black froghopper (Cercopis vulnerata) clinging to a honeysuckle stem. Not a beetle- these sap-suckers are true bugs and champion jumpers. Their young hide in “cuckoo spit” nearby.

permaculturists also came up with the "chicken tractor" -- a movable pen where you keep chickens for a few days while they eat bugs out of the grass, turn the earth by scratching it and fertilize it with their droppings, then move 30 feet over. happy chickens, happy fields, zero labor. permaculture!

Had a second round of tomato hornworms appear. These ones got left on the plants since they are carrying the next generation of free pest control! #bugs #insects #permaculture #organic #gardening #foodgarden #ontario #norfolkcounty #garden2025

I'm going to plant a range of native-to-my-region seeds today. The birds, bugs, and humans etc will bask in their photosynthesis, and diverse generosity, luminous beauty, and richness when they bloom and grow in a collective thriving this growing season. #Grateful #NativePlants #Permaculture
I organize online, but I show up in person.

We can’t just throw hot takes out on social media. We have to call, write, testify, and march if we can.

Show up and they’ll know the resistance is real.

Yes. They make a really useful ground cover in permaculture or 'forest' gardening, a weed suppressant which bears fruit and which bugs (and mice and hedgehogs) love.

The garden I inherited from my mum is now more alive than ever! 🦋 By letting it grow a little wild, it’s easing into #permaculture—bugs, birds and fresh blooms are loving it. Thanks, Mum, for the beautiful foundation; nature knows how to flourish on its own. 💚 #wildgarden #biodiversity

Bsky is a place where people share common interests. I follow back anyone who posts about native plants, bugs or Permaculture, and my feed is full of the most wonderful things!
