One of the reasons we decided to ride the PeruRail Andean Explorer is that it is the 2nd highest railway in the world. Although only a ten-hour ride, the Andean Explorer, co-owned by the Orient Express, lived up to that famous connection. #nature #travel #railway #trains #photography #landscape

La circulación de trenes en el tramo Ollantaytambo-Machu Picchu, en Cusco, fue suspendida este viernes 2 de octubre luego de un incidente registrado entre una unidad de Inca Rail y otra de PeruRail, a la altura del sector de Pampacahua.

Managed to get a wee busman’s holiday too in Peru with two amazing train journeys. 🚞 Firstly, the train from Lake Titicaca to Cusco; around ten hours of stunning scenery up and down through the Andes. Then a return trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu Pueblo/Aguas Calientes. 😍

Managed to get a wee busman’s holiday too in Peru with two amazing train journeys. 🚞 Firstly, the train from Lake Titicaca to Cusco; around ten hours of stunning scenery up and down through the Andes. Then a return trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu Pueblo/Aguas Calientes. 😍

Erinnert mich an eine 10h Zugfahrt, war aber nicht mit der DB. Toller Service und viele Erlebnisse. Auf der Strecke gab es einen Markt, die Leute haben entweder die Sachen einfach liegen gelassen und der Zug fährt darüber hinweg. Geht wenn es nur 1-2 am Tag passiert.

Erinnert mich an eine 10h Zugfahrt, war aber nicht mit der DB. Toller Service und viele Erlebnisse. Auf der Strecke gab es einen Markt, die Leute haben entweder die Sachen einfach liegen gelassen und der Zug fährt darüber hinweg. Geht wenn es nur 1-2 am Tag passiert.

No. Macchu Pichu es bastante light. Hay que ir entre mayo y octubre, fuera de la temporada de lluvias y está a solo 2200 msn. Cuzco está a 3600 msn.

No. Macchu Pichu es bastante light. Hay que ir entre mayo y octubre, fuera de la temporada de lluvias y está a solo 2200 msn. Cuzco está a 3600 msn.

De iconische treinverbinding naar Machu Picchu, het wereldberoemde Inca-heiligdom in Peru, is sinds maandag stilgelegd door een grootschalige protestactie van lokale bewoners. De spoorwegmaatschappij PerúRail kondigde de tijdelijke opschorting van haar diensten aan nadat demonstranten rotsen en boomstammen op de rails hadden geplaatst, waardoor het treinverkeer onmogelijk werd.
